Our History
For us, Strong Tower Academy, Zaria, isn’t just a school – it is a mission. An academic mission with a story of consistent growth and resilience. It all began back in 2003, in a small space at No. 1 Ahmed Talib Street, Aviation Site II Quarters. We started with just one daycare minder and a single little one we welcomed on February 3rd. It was a humble beginning, but it sparked a passion for education that continues to this day.
Those early months were filled with dedication and hard work. We quickly saw the need for more, and within a short time, we were able to build two additional classrooms. This allowed us to open our doors to even more children, offering pre-nursery, nursery, and eventually, even primary classes. The joy of celebrating our first graduating set of Class pupils in July 2008 was a pivotal moment – a testament to our hard work and the trust placed in us by our community.
Our commitment to excellence and fostering well-rounded individuals resonated with families, and Strong Tower Academy began to flourish. By 2013, we knew it was time to expand again. We moved to a more spacious location at No. 24 Aminu Kano Road, Zango-Zaria, to accommodate our growing number of students and dedicated staff.
Today, we stand proudly on our permanent site at the Ministry of Works, Opposite Silver Jubilee Quarters, Sokoto Road, Zaria. Our journey has led us to a place with modern classrooms, a vibrant community of over 300 students, and a team of over 40 passionate staff of both teaching and non-teaching staff. Most importantly, we’ve grown into a comprehensive school offering daycare/creche services all the way to senior secondary school. This allows us to ensure each child receives a top-notch education throughout their formative years to their adolescent years, all within a disciplined, pragmatic, and healthy environment.
The story of Strong Tower Academy, Zaria is truly ours – a story shared by students, parents, teachers, and the entire community. Our inclusive education ensures that no child is left out. Children with special needs get the desired attention, and so many homes are happy for it. It’s a testament to what can be achieved with dedication, a shared vision, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child. We are excited to continue shaping young minds and inspiring the future, one student at a time.
From the Director's Desk
It gives me great pleasure to write this piece.
I thank Almighty God for the privilege to lead this noble task.
Many thanks to all parents and guardians who have placed their confidence in us, both before and since the inception of Strong Tower Academy Zaria (STAZ), and continue to do so today.
I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our staff members and everyone who has contributed to our success thus far.
Strong Tower Academy, Zaria, is comprised of Daycare, Creche, Reception, Nursery, Primary, and Secondary classes.
As evident in our core values, vision, and mission statement, we are passionate about raising children who will be a pride to themselves, their families, their nations, and God, their Creator.
We train children not just for jobs but for life. This is achieved through both our curricular and extracurricular activities, which include in-house games, sports, music, skill acquisition programs, ICT, and practical classes in all subjects.
At Strong Tower Academy Zaria, we provide inclusive education. We have both staff and resources to cater to children with special needs because we believe that every child has hidden potential, and with proper guidance, that potential will flourish. As the Bible says, “All our children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be their peace.”
Parental involvement has been key to our success. We foster this through daily home assignments, Open Days, and PTA meetings. We encourage parents to provide feedback on the services we render.
Ongoing staff training is yielding positive results, and we are proud to have a team of hardworking, dedicated individuals whom you can trust with your children’s future.
We also enjoy the support of our community, and in turn, we give back in our own little way, including offering scholarships and helping with road repairs when necessary.
